Darkness II Moves to 2012

Maybe you didn't pay attention to the original Darkness game. Maybe you thought it was just a cheap cash in on a violent comic franchise. Maybe you figured you'd rest assured knowing that the original game didn't do well enough to garner a sequel. Maybe you though–

SHUT UP. You thought wrong! The Darkness II is drawing from its roots, taking a vivid comic-book inspired world and splashing blood all over it! Who's blood? Yours!

Unfortunately, it'll be splashing your blood all over the environment on February 7th, 2012 now, instead of this October. Digital Extremes and 2K Games are pushing the quad-wielding shooter back out of the crowded marketplace this holiday season and hoping to get a demonic grasp on your gift cards instead. While we'll be missing The Darkness II this Fall, we'll be looking forward to hearing more about the game at Comic-Con.

Despite announcing a delay, developers of The Darkness II will be at Comic-Con with the comic's creator Marc Silvestri, Top Cow comics president Matt Hawkins, and demonic voice-over artist Mike Patton. If you're in San Diego this week, be sure to get a seat at the "Spreading The Darkness: From Comic Book to Video Games and Entertainment" panel on Thursday.
