Netflix Hits Nintendo 3DS Today

Netflix instant streaming is available on the big three consoles and a number of smartphones. The next device to be added to that list is the Nintendo 3DS. Netflix instant streaming is arriving on the Nintendo 3DS some time today.

In the future, the 3DS might have an added feature which takes advantage of the 3DS' unique glasses-free 3D screen. In addition to regular 2D streaming movies which will be available today, Nintendo says that "users will soon have access to an additional library of select movies that can be viewed in 3D without the need for special glasses".

The Netflix app is available for free from the Nintendo 3DS eShop, but you must have a Netflix account with an instant streaming package. In related news, you now must pay for instant streaming separately from your standard Netflix in-mail package.
