Mario Kart 8 will be out on Wii U this month, but Nintendo has announced that the game's video-sharing service dubbed Mario Kart TV will also be available for use on smart phones and internet browsers.
Mario Kart 8 allows players to post their best laps, interesting clips, and more to the Internet to share with friends and rivals alike and the Mario Kart TV web app will allow you to compare times, watch clips, comment, and generally grow the Mario Kart community wherever you go.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced the app during the company's financial earnings report. You can see a few screens above, but we anticipate hearing a lot more about Nintendo's growing reach into mobile platforms and into the toy market soon.
Mario Kart 8 will be out exclusively on Wii U on May 30th in the United States and Europe. Japanese gamers get a head start with a May 29th release date and Australians can start running laps on May 31st. Look our for GameRevolution's review ready to run at midnight next Wednesday.
