Planets3 Kickstarted, Heading to PC and Mac

French developer Cubical Drift has achieved funding through Kickstarter to the tune of $310,708, bringing voxel-based role-playing to PC and Mac. With over 10,000 backers, Planets3 seems to hope it can follow Minecraft into the gaming zeitgeist, a tough prospect for fresh indies.

The average amount pledged to development was $30, but overall the Kickstarter campaign has proven to have quite a lot of momentum and popularity. Cubical Drift hope to launch their online store so more consumers can pre-purchase the game.

Founder Michel Thomazeau said "I hope that before the end of May all backers will have the possibility to gather on our forum to continue the interesting conversation they started on KickStarter."

I hope they get to play the game too! For more on Planets3 check out the trailer above and then visit Cubical Drift's website for details on buying the game.
