Microsoft has confirmed that its game development studio, Microsoft Studios, has been hit by layoffs. This news comes just days after the announcement that Phil Spencer will now serve as Head of Xbox. Coincidence?

There's no word on how many individuals have lost their jobs, but here's to hoping the extent of the damage…
