Pachter Predicts Low Duke Nukem Sales

Apparently, when he's not making comments that make him look like a dumbass, industry analyst Michael Pachter makes comments that anyone with a dimly lit sense of awareness about the gaming world and no more than a high school education would draw. On the chopping block now is the joke-within-a-joke that is Duke Nukem Forever. What does Pachter have to say about this legendary yeti of the gaming world? Basically, it's going to have bad sales numbers because… wait for it… everyone hated it:

We had previously expected Duke to be one of the year’s top sellers due to a high degree of hype and a dedicated fan base, and expected solid profit contribution as the bulk of development had been previously expensed. However, the game’s poor reviews (average Metacritic score of 49) likely had a negative impact on sales, causing us to lower our [first quarter] sell-in estimate to 1.5 million units from 3 million units.

What a genius. Y'know, sometimes I think we're a little bit too hard on ol' Mike here at GR, but then the injustice of the fact that this absolute tool gets his own soapbox to say anything about the gaming industry that floats into his obvious non-gamer head kicks in and overrides any of that.
