Titanfall PC Requirements Include Origin, Will Your Computer Run Titanfall?

Vince Zampella took to his Twitter account to reveal Titanfall's PC hardware requirements, alerting the Newegg head of buying to go on full alert for PC hardware supporting Respawn Entertainment's hotly anticipated game.

Titanfall's minimum specs don't seem too bad. Check them out and tell us what you think:

Operating System: 64-bit Windows 7, 8, or 8.1

Processor: AMD Athlon X2 2.8GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (or better)

Memory: 4GB RAM

Graphics Card: 512MB VRAM, Radeon HD 4770 or GeForce 8800GT

One follower responded to Zampella's tweet to inform the developer that if Titanfall required Origin to play, they would no longer purchase the game, despite rabid fandom consuming his very soul. Titanfall DOES require Origin. It will not be released on Steam.

The fan later replied to say that his purchase had been lost. When Zampella asked the gamer to at least try the beta test via Origin, mentioning that it would be free, the fan ignored him.

Some fans of Titanfall, including myself, have mentioned Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and other EA Partners releases in discussing whether Titanfall (an EA Partners release) would require EA's hated new download service.

So you're all really against Origin? If I had invested in a beefy PC, more than capable of tackling Titanfall's hardware requirements, I couldn't forego that to play on an Xbox One. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'll only be able to play Titanfall on Xbox One (because I'm a Mac plebian) and it'll still use Origin in some way or another.

If you've played an EA game on a console or mobile device in the past two or three years, you've been using Origin. Judging by the popularity of our The Simpsons: Tapped Out cheats, I'd say that's a lot of you.
