If you wanna play Titanfall you have a few options for launch. You can buy a bunch of PC hardware, a license for Windows, and then install Origin. You can get an Xbox One and buy yourself a copy of the game for that sytem. Or you can do the same with an Xbox 360.
I can just hear everyone shouting and booing at their computers. Origin?! The thought! Why I'd never install Origin, ever! If you've seen Titanfall in action, you know you'll need the best platform for optimum frame-rate, resolution, and connectivity. The folks at subreddit r/PCMasterRace know a thing or two about optimum graphics and performance.
u/ROFLM0NSTER posted the picture above, with his own emphasis added to EA's UK Origin storefront. Titanfall is both cheaper via PC download and eligible for EA's Great Game Guarantee, but many PC fanatics didn't immediately run to EA's side. Many suggest the continuous hate stream be left unimpeded.
They cite SimCity and Battlefield 4 as reasons to hold off from boarding the Titanfall hype train. r/PCMasterRace is notoriously pro-GabeN (Valve boss Gabe Newell), so anything Origin related has an uphill battle in the subreddit. Needless to say, the Master Race has pledged allegiance to only the liquid-cooled hardware they slave over, so things could change if Andrew Wilson makes the right moves.
The concerns these gamers have are reasonable, but any excuse to bring up Origin's Great Game Guarantee is an excuse I'll take to drum up a similar program for other digital distribution platforms like those growing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. If publishers want gamers to go digital, they have to make the marketplace warm for those wondering about consumer rights.
