Disney Abandons Trademark For Star Wars 1313

If you were still holding onto a shred of hope that Star Wars 1313 may one day come to fruition, I'm sorry but it's time to let it go, as Disney has abandoned the trademark.

The company opted to not renew the trademark back in December, making it clear that there are no plans to return to the project first started by LucasArts. In case you've forgotten, Disney purchased Lucasfilm last year, shutting down LucasArts and thereby effectively killing Star Wars 1313. It's sad, but hey, that's business for you.

Now, Electronic Arts has the exclusive rights to make Star Wars games, with a new Battlefront title coming from DICE sometime in the future. Here's to hoping that fills the void.
