The Game Awards 2022 Date and Time Announced, Tickets Available Soon

Host Geoff Keighley has confirmed The Game Awards 2022 date and time, revealing that the annual show will be finally making a return after a three-year hiatus due to the covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony will add “Best Adaptation” to its award categories.

How to purchase The Game Awards 2022 tickets

Those who wish to attend the show live in person will need to wait for ticket sales to become available on November 1, 2022 at 9:00am. They will be on sale at the official website at axs.com, but given that scalpers will likely pilfer some of the available pool, you’ll want to get ready to purchase tickets at least five minutes before that happens. Even if you aren’t able to score a ticket, though, the event will be livestreamed on 40 platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook.

It’s unclear what the price might be for the tickets, but fans will be able to purchase a Lexus Box rental for the event that includes access to a VIP entrance, VIP lounge, a private bar, and of course a private box to watch the show. California and LA County have lifted requirements for indoor mega events, allowing ticketed guests to attend without needing proof of vaccination or a negative covid-19 test.

As usual, this year’s The Game Awards will let viewers “celebrate the best and see what’s next” in the video game industry. It will feature performances by The Game Awards Orchestra and others that will be announced at a later date.

Last year at The Game Awards, It Takes Two won the Game of the Year award, while Deathloop won Best Game Direction and Returnal won Best Action Game. This year’s nominees haven’t been announced yet, but it will likely include Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, The Quarry, and the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok.

In other news, Google Stadia has shut down with developers not given any warning, and the massive decline in MultiVersus player count is worrying fans.
