Intel 13th Gen CPU

Intel 13th-Gen CPU Release Dates and Pricing Announced

Putting the copious amounts of teasers and leaks to rest, the Intel 13th-gen CPU release dates and pricing have finally been revealed. The Intel 13th-gen “Raptor Lake” processors are scheduled to arrive on October 20 with the flagship Core i9-13900K set at $589. This is a bit of a surprise given rising costs, inflation, and chip shortages due to the covid-19 pandemic. With AMD releasing its Ryzen 7000 chips today as well, the war between the two companies has resumed once again.

All of the Intel cores listed below all need 125 watts of processor base power. The P|E entries indicate how many of the cores are Performance and Efficient, which is how the chips split workloads using Intel’s Thread Director.

  • i9-13900K – $589 – 24 Cores (8P|16E), 32 Threads, 36 MB smart cache
  • i9-13900F – $564 – 24 Cores (8P|16E), 32 Threads, 36 MB smart cache
  • i7-13700K – $409 – 16 Cores (8P|8E), 24 Threads, 30 MB smart cache
  • i7-13700KF – $384 – 16 Cores (8P|8E), 24 Threads, 30 MB smart cache
  • i5-13600K – $319 – 14 Cores (6P|8E), 20 Threads, 24 MB smart cachce
  • i5-13600KF – $294 – 14 Cores (6P|8E), 20 Threads, 24 MB smart cache

In addition, the i9-13900K, i7-13700K, and i5-13600K come with Intel UHD graphics 770 built in, which is why they have an increased recommended price. All of the 13th-gen processors are built on Intel’s 7 process and its x86 performance hybrid architecture. Specifically for the i9-13900K, it has better single-thread (up to 15 percent) and multithreaded performance (up to 41 percent).

While the prices for the Core i9 and Core i7 processors have remained the same, the i5-13600K and i5-13600KF will cost $30 more compared to last year’s models. The Core i7 and i9 will also both need more wattage to reach max turbo power. The Intel’s 13th Gen processors will be supported by the existing 600-series motherboards as well as the new 700-series chipset.
