HBO’s The Last of Us TV show cast is officially getting bigger, with the actors stepping into the roles of brothers Henry and Sam now revealed. Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard will play the characters, with some major changes made for the upcoming series.
HBO adds four more names to The Last of Us TV show cast
First revealed by IGN, Lamar Johnson will play older sibling Henry, with Keivonn Woodard taking on Sam. They join lead cast members Bella Ramsey as Ellie and Pedro Pascal as Joel. The brothers were first introduced to gamers in The Last of Us as survivors in Pittsburgh, who work together with Ellie and Joel against hunters who roam the city. The HBO series will change things around, with Henry and Sam residing in Kansas City, “hiding from a revolutionary movement seeking vengeance.”
The Last of Us’ cast has also added two entirely new characters into the fold. Marlon and Florence will be played by Graham Greene and Elaine Miles respectively. They are described as “a married couple surviving alone in the wilderness of post-apocalyptic Wyoming.” Exactly how they will play into proceedings remains to be seen, but with everything on the line in the post-apocalyptic world, their journey will surely be an interesting one to follow.
After voicing Ellie and Joel in the video game, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker will appear in undisclosed roles. Gabriel Luna will play Joel’s brother Tommy, and the actor who originally voiced the sibling, Jeffrey Pierce, will play a quarantine zone rebel called Perry.
The Last of Us is set to debut on HBO and HBO Max in 2023.
