That’s 12 Splatoon 3 multiplayer maps in total that will be ready for the game’s launch on September 9.
For those players with a more competitive mindset, this early look will provide crucial information that can be used to start planning strategies. It’s rare for a multiplayer game to reveal all of its maps this far ahead of release, so you might as well use that to your advantage!
With snippets of gameplay of each map featured at 2 minutes 56 seconds onwards in the Direct embedded above, eagle-eyed viewers will be able to get a sense of each location’s power points.
Returning maps include Museum D’Alfonsino, Hammerhead Bridge, and Mahi-Mahi Resort. Fans will either be eager to see the return of these maps or sour that the roster is partially filled with old maps.
“More stages will be added in later updates!” appears at the end of the stages segment, promising more locations coming after launch. These are expected to be part of free content drops and potentially included in the paid-for larger-scale expansions.
With a launch date of September 9, Splatoon fans have less than a month to wait before they get their hands on the third game in the series. Until then, I guess it’s time to warm up by playing Splatoon 2 or some of the returning levels from the original Splatoon!
In other news, a new Skyrim mod adds a Shadow of Mordor-esque Nemesis system. Netflix games don’t seem to be doing so well. MultiVersus’ player count has passed 10 million.
