Raven Software and Activision have revealed Season 4 for Call of Duty: Warzone, and the Mercenaries of Fortune season will bring players a whole new map called Fortune’s Keep. Not to be left behind, Caldera will be getting updates to its points of interest, while there will be plenty of other new features such as new vehicles across the game.
When does Season 4 of Warzone come out?
Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune will go live at 9 AM PT on June 22, 2022. The biggest feature on the Warzone Season 4 roadmap is the arrival of a new map, Fortune’s Keep, which is roughly the same size as Rebirth Island. The island features a mercenary hideout at the top of a normally peaceful town and has four points of interest. First, there’s the seaside town filled with narrow alleyways and flat rooftops. There’s a fortress in the center, a graveyard, and a coastal path with a gazebo. Secondly, there’s a smuggler’s cove that comes equipped with plenty of supplies, such as gas masks. The winery is the third point of interest, which has a cellar full of supplies and a nearby camp with a helipad. Finally, the titular keep has watchtowers ideal for snipers, but also an underground tunnel system for sneaking in.
Fortune’s Keep will also be the location for Black Market Run contracts where players have to reach the Black Market Buy Station before the timer expires. This special Buy Station has off-market loot like the Nebula V Minigun or classified weapons. There will also be Cash Extractions that players can ambush and steal their ill-gotten gains.
Caldera will be getting new points of interest too. Storage Town will make an appearance between the Mines, Airfield, Village, and Dig Site and will be pretty much as players remember it. Severe drought will cause rivers to dry up and mercenary camps and mercenary vaults will be dotted around the landscape. There will also be additional paths.
The Armored SUV will be the new vehicle on Caldera. It has nitro boost and a dedicated rooftop turret seat, as well as room for other armed operators. Meanwhile, the EMP Grenade is a new non-lethal tool to disable vehicles and player HUDs. Plunder game modes will get ATMs to raid for more cash, while there’s a new Golden Plunder limited-time mode. The Mercenaries of Fortune event brings eight new challenges to complete for rewards like new Weapon Camos, Reticle, Charm, Emblem, Sticker, and a Legendary animated Calling Card.
Finally, for those concerned, Rebirth Island isn’t going anywhere. While “contact appears to have been temporarily lost at that theater of combat”, players can “expect reestablishment of communications, and access to this location shortly”. There will be three maps in rotation during Call of Duty Season 4.
In other news, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Week 2 Quests are available now and we’ll tell you how to find the Grapple Glove if you’re not sure where to find it. Elsewhere, it turns out The Quarry’s online multiplayer modes were delayed because of the Ukraine War.
