Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 doesn’t land for another couple of weeks, but anxious viewers can feed their fandom, literally, with a Surfer Boy frozen pizza. Inspired by the pies served up by season 4’s breakout character Argyle, the toppings-covered treat — packaged in a retro pizza box — makes for both a cool collectible and late-night snack. But thanks to the stoner delivery driver’s enormous popularity, these fan-pleasing pizzas can also be a bit hard to come by.
Stranger Things’ Surfer Boy Pizza is a hot item
Stranger Things’ faithful following is probably already familiar with the series’ affinity for promotional food tie-ins, as Netflix previously partnered with Baskin-Robbins to release flavors inspired by Steve Harrington’s stint slinging ice cream at Scoops Ahoy. But this latest culinary collectible has caught fire thanks to fans’ adoration for Argyle, Jonathan Byers’ affable, ganja-loving best bud from California. It probably doesn’t hurt that the pizzas are reasonably priced, selling for just $6.98 at Walmart, where they are available exclusively.
More than just an affordable way to celebrate your affection for Stranger Things and Argyle, the pizzas are apparently of surprisingly good quality. Featuring 4.7 stars, aggregated from a dozen reviews on the retailer’s site, the pies have been garnered with unanimous praise, including “Totally Legit,” and “Restaurant Quality Pizza!” The Surfer Boy Supreme, topped with sausage, peperoni, green peppers, red onion, black olives, and mushrooms appears to be a favorite, but other varieties — including Pineapple Jalapeno — are also on the menu.
Of course, the real draw is the authentic, old-school packaging that looks exactly like the boxes Argyle shuttles about on the show. If you can get your hands on this coveted, edible collectible, you may want to save it and scoff it down while watching the season’s final two episodes dropping July 1st.
