Shaman King Season 2

Shaman King Season 2 Greenlit, Release Date Uncertain

Upon the conclusion of the television anime reboot for Hiroyuki Takei’s Shaman King manga, it was immediately revealed through an ad that Shaman King Season 2 has already been greenlit. The second season will adapt the sequel of the manga called Shaman King: Flowers, which focuses on Hana Asakura, the son of Yoh and Anna, as he is brought into the Asakura Family while his parents are away.

What is the Shaman King season 2 release date?

Unfortunately, details of Shaman King Season 2 are rather thin, and no additional information of the release date or the format has been revealed, apart from the teaser trailer (posted above). While an announcement of a Shaman King sequel was expected, it is surprising that it came so quickly after the end of the first season.

The Shaman King: Flowers spin-off manga was released in 2012 in Jump X magazine and ended when the magazine had its final issue in 2014. The Shaman King series has additional content with Shaman King: The Super Star, which Takei launched as a spin-off in 2017 that has run until September 2021, when the author decided to put the manga on hold. That said, it wouldn’t be surprising with the success of Shaman King that Shaman King: The Super Star might see an anime adaptation as well after Shaman King Season 2 finishes its run.

Premiering in Japan on April 2021, the new anime adaptation of Shaman King lasted 52 episodes and is directed by Takeshi Furuta (aka Joji Furuta) at studio Bridge. Netflix brought the anime worldwide starting on August 9, 2021. As the Shaman King anime adapted all 35 volumes of the original manga’s new complete edition, it stands to reason that Shaman King Season 2 will likely adapt all of the manga for Shaman King: Flowers.

In other gaming-related news, a new narrative-driven, action-adventure Star Wars game is in production at Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media, and The House of the Dead: Remake will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC after being (very briefly) a timed exclusive on Nintendo Switch.
