Is it finally happening after all these months? Both Amazon and Walmart (well, at the time of this writing) simply have the Xbox Series X in stock. It’s just… there. The Xbox Series X console, which has been difficult to find and purchase after its launch, is now casually available without having to worry about a horde of scalpers and bots scooping the entire supply.
How long will Xbox Series X be in stock at retailers?
Perhaps as a sign that the supply for Xbox Series X is finally meeting the demand, both Amazon and Walmart have the console available at the normal retail price of $499.99. And what a word that is: “normal.” It’s unclear how long this almost relaxed restock for the console will last, but this bodes well for Microsoft as it continues to compete with Sony’s PlayStation 5 and catch up with its competitor’s userbase.
Most of the time, you’ll find the console not in stock at all or with sky-high prices at sites like eBay and StockX. Since the console’s release in late 2020, the Xbox Series X has been in short supply. Whether it’s due to global chip shortages and covid lockdowns, the same struggles that the PS5 is having as well, the current top-tier Xbox console has struggled to keep up with demand.
Earlier this month, we reported that the Xbox Series consoles had defeated the PS5 console in sales figures for Europe for the very first time, marking a shift in the battle between these two next-gen consoles. A part of this was due to the supply-chain struggles of the PS5, while the other part was sales for the Xbox Series S which at a lower price point has been easier to find. With the Xbox Series X now available, Microsoft is looking like it will be able to carry this momentum forward.
