Dying Light 2 Battle Royale

Dying Light 2 Won’t Get a Battle Royale Mode

Dying Light 2 will not be getting a battle royale mode as part of its five-year roadmap. Techland recently added even more content to the first year of their DLC plan for the game, which already included both online multiplayer and single-player content, but lead game designer Tymon Smektała recently went into more detail as to what players can and can’t expect to see.

No Dying Light 2 battle royale, so what is there?

No Dying Light 2 battle royale mode is planned “for the moment,” or certainly not for the future he could “talk about right now” Smektała told PlayStation LifeStyle:

Something like this is not planned at this moment. So for the future I can talk about right now, there is no battle royale there. Definitely there will be some models and some content updates that will target the online play, so maybe not battle royale, but something different, which should be exciting for our gamers that want the online experience.

Smektała also reiterated the upcoming story DLC will not continue on from the end of the game, especially as there are multiple endings players can choose. Techland wants to give players time to “see those different endings and maybe decide for themselves which one is the one they want,” so any DLC in the immediate future will not be attached to the end of the game. Instead, the DLC story will take place in a new location and will run parallel to the main game. Players will be able to start it as soon as they enter the city.

Free content updates will include new inhibitors, new environments, New Game +, Photo Mode, extra difficulty levels, more parkour challenges, and Mutated-infected events. Smektała also confirmed there would be “new player progression to develop your character further,” including new abilities, stats, tools, and appearances. More details will be announced in the future.

In other news, 343 Industries has confirmed they will be revealing details about Halo Infinite Season 2 soon. The season will be called Lone Wolves and will add content to the free-to-play multiplayer section of the game. Elsewhere, Fortnite players are asking Epic Games to add a slap emote to the Will Smith skin.
