A year after Marvel’s Avengers came out to lackluster reviews, the game is still getting big updates. A big one that has been in the works for quite a while is the addition of Spider-Man as a playable hero. However, not all Marvel’s Avengers players will get a chance to participate in the Spider-Man hero event as there is no release date on the roadmap for the DLC to come to Xbox or PC.
Is the Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man DLC coming to Xbox and PC?
Unfortunately, the recently released roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers only has a release date for the Spider-Man DLC for PS4 and PS5. On November 30, players on those consoles will get a chance to unlock Spider-Man as part of his new hero event. However, neither the roadmap nor the Tweet that came alongside it mention the content coming to Xbox and PC.
The reason for this is apparent. Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man, and there’s no reason to license the character for use on platforms that rival the PlayStation. The big question is whether the Spider-Man DLC will be a limited exclusive on the PlayStation version of the game or if he’ll never come to Xbox and PC at all. There’s no text on the roadmap stating that it’s a limited-time exclusive, so things aren’t looking good.
Fortunately, the update that brings Spider-Man to PlayStation does have some goodies for other platforms. Earnable cosmetics will be added to the game, along with a vendor and shipment system. More outfits inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be added as well, but it’s not clear if these will be paid or earnable in-game.
Some systems are also being reworked, and these changes will debut in the Spider-Man patch. This includes a power level cap increase, gear upgrading changes, and changes to the resource system.
