Marvel DC crossover

Marvel/DC movie crossover may happen, according to Dwayne Johnson

A possible Marvel/DC crossover of their movie universes has been teased as possible by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is along with his Red Notice co-stars Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds says that they “could be the ones to possibly make it happen.” Dwayne Johnson’s next movie is Black Adam for DC next year, with Gal Gadot working on Wonder Woman 3 and Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool 3, but could they all meet up in an MCU and DCEU crossover movie?

How could a Marvel DC crossover in movies happen?

Marvel DC crossover

Dwayne Johnson (Black Adam) says he has had discussions with his Red Notice co-stars Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) about getting a crossover between the DC Extended Universe and Marvel Cinematic Universe happening. “There should be a crossover between Marvel and the DC universe,” Johnson said in an interview with Variety, “and we could be the ones to possibly make it happen. We’ll see what happens!”

So while it is by no means certain as there are a lot of licensing issues to sort out, three big stars campaigning for a crossover between Marvel and DC movies makes the proposition a lot more likely.

Furthermore, in an interview with Red Notice and Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia, when asked about Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman crossing paths with Black Adam, Garcia confirmed “we’re working on it.” Whether the same is true of Deadpool, that’s another matter.

It’s certainly not the only Marvel/DC crossover that’s been touted recently. This week’s Marvel movie Eternals has confirmed that Superman exists in the MCU, for example, and Mortal Kombat studio NetherRealm continues to tease a possible Marvel vs DC fighting game in place of Injustice 3. Of course, there’s always Epic’s Fortnite, which recently added The Batman Who Laughs and may be getting Spider-Man very soon.
