Eternals spoilers

Eternals spoilers leak after first press screening

Just a day after its premiere, spoilers for Marvel’s Eternals early screening are online. The film screened on October 18, with the main stars and crew assembling for the big launch. First reactions of the film released soon after, but some social media posts were littered with movie-ruining spoilers. It’s another case of audiences missing out on big surprises due to spoilers, weeks before the film’s release.

New Eternals post-credits scene leaked

Yes, the big takeaway from the Eternals premiere was a range of plot spoilers. Especially prevalent are leaks around the big post-credits scene, which has been trending on Twitter since the screening.

Interestingly, a lot of the major spoilers — including the spoiler-filled big reveal — were leaked by some senior movie industry journalists. Major names, working for some of the biggest publications, were straight out of the premiere tweeting about huge plot points. We won’t share these spoilers due to their movie-ruining nature. Fans were understandably disappointed that insiders leaked big Eternals surprises before the movie is even out.

Yes, Eternals doesn’t hit theaters until November 5, still several weeks in the future. When movie journalists with large followings are sharing spoilers so brazenly, it becomes nearly impossible to avoid. That ruins the experience for MCU fans looking to go into Eternals without any plot details.

Sadly, it’s becoming something of a trend with this year’s MCU movies. Both Shang-Chi and Spider-Man: No Way Home spoilers have leaked online in recent months. It’s a difficult trade-off for the MCU: since it’s the biggest franchise in Hollywood right now, people are always going to want to be the first to announce a hot scoop.

While that might bring clout and social media attention to the people sharing spoilers, it does diminish the experience for hardcore MCU fans. Spoilers are becoming harder and harder to avoid, and Eternals is the latest victim of this.

In other movie news, it seems that the Batgirl movie could feature Michael Keaton’s Batman.
