UPDATE: The leak was correct, as Microsoft confirmed at Gamescom that Halo Infinite is out December 8, 2021.
A possible Halo Infinite release date leak, from the Microsoft Store no less, has seemingly confirmed the game will be out this December. This likely Halo Infinite December release was spotted online as the date went live from Microsoft before being quickly pulled, but is backed up by a Taiwanese retailer of all places. With Gamescom still going on, it’s entirely possible the Halo Infinite leak of the release date may be officially revealed soon.
Halo Infinite release date leak suggests a December release
According to the latest leak from today, the release date for Halo Infinite is down as December 8, 2021. This leak originated from no less than Microsoft itself, with this new December release date appearing on the Microsoft Store earlier today before being swiftly pulled. This will certainly be a relief to fans wondering if the much-anticipated Halo Infinite would get put off out of 2021 after so many delays have already hit the project.

This release date of December 8 is actually backed up by a Taiwanese online shopping website, which was also spotted by fans earlier today. Microsoft has long ascertained that Halo Infinite would come out this year, but as the end of 2021 is fast approaching many fans were probably bracing themselves for a delay to 2022 — despite the recent technical beta that allowed players to try out Infinite for the first time happening just last month.
Nonetheless, if Halo Infinite does see a release in December it won’t be in a complete state, since Microsoft has confirmed that Infinite’s campaign co-op and the Forge map creator mode would both be delayed to 2022. If Halo Infinite indeed releases in December, it will just be with the single-player campaign and the separate free-to-play multiplayer, which already has its first season planned out as being based on Halo Reach and a full Battle Pass is coming too.
