Black Ops Cold War TEC-9

New Call of Duty TEC-9 gun is OP and needs a nerf

With Season 5, developer Treyarch Studios implemented a number of big changes to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There are new maps, modes, a fresh Battle Pass, and some questionable weaponry. Both the EM2 assault rifle and TEC-9 SMG are rapidly growing in infamy for just how powerful they are. The TEC-9 is especially brutal, becoming an absolute monster when paired with certain attachments. Here’s the need-to-know info on this new meta-shifting weapon.

Is the Black Ops Cold War TEC-9 overpowered?

The Black Ops Cold War TEC-9 is able to kill much faster than other SMGs. When paired with an especially fast trigger finger or the Full Auto Repeater muzzle attachment, this new SMG can dish out an unrivaled amount of damage per second.

SMGs are already a top-tier weapon class in BOCW and the TEC-9 takes things to a whole other level. Its three-shot kill range makes deleting enemies a breeze. On the receiving end, the time-to-kill can seem almost instantaneous, comparable to Modern Warfare (2019).

When is the TEC-9 going to be nerfed?

The TEC-9 will surely get nerfed during Season 5.

Treyarch hasn’t yet acknowledged the weapon’s prowess, however, and a nerf hasn’t yet been confirmed to be in the works.

With the new SMG unlocking at Battle Pass Tier 31, many players are only just starting to equip and use it. As the days go on, more and more players will discover this new most powerful weapon.

Here’s hoping a TEC-9 nerf is rolled out soon, as it is currently the most dominant gun in the game.
