New Fortnite update teases big changes for Coral Castle and Mythic Weapon

The Fortnite 3.24 update patch notes are rolling out as the update goes live, with the brand new update teasing a new event. With a new Fortnite update also comes an all-new datamine, with leakers such as HypeX revealing a brand new Mythic weapon, the Plasma Cannon, while it’s also seemingly been revealed that Coral Castle will undergo a major change and be transformed into a “floating chunk.” Here’s everything included in the new 3.24 (or 17.21 on PC) patch notes:

The Fortnite 3.24 update patch notes are a work-in-progress, with Epic Games adding them to the game’s official Trello as they go live.

Here’s what’s included so far:

Battle Royale

  • Inflate-A-Bull temporarily disabled in competitive playlists. (RE-ENABLED)

The new update has also added a brand new countdown timer to an unspecified live event, which you can read more about here.

Here’s the leaks obtained via datamine, which includes the new Mythic weapon the Plasma Cannon, along with an upcoming event lobby background

It also seems like Coral Castle will be receiving a major overhaul, with a datamined image showing the map area now being transformed into a floating chunk, highlighting how the map is likely set to receive some big changes in the near future:

While this update is only small, it seems that big things are brewing for the battle royale. With the rumored Ariana Grande appearance and this new live event looking set to make big changes to its map, players will need to tune in to see where the game is headed.

In other news, Apex Legends is set to receive some map changes of its own. It was also revealed that the upcoming Dead Space remake would not have last-gen versions, and would be a current-gen release only.
