GTA Online Call of Duty Servers Down

Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA Online, Dead by Daylight, and more servers down after major internet outage

A major internet outage is affecting multiple games. Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA Online, Dead by Daylight, Warframe, Rainbow Six Siege, and more are all down due to an issue with one or more Content Delivery Networks. We’ve seen reports of AWS, Cloudflare, and Akamai all facing problems, and these three services help power a large part of the internet.

Why are Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA Online, and other games down?

Major Server Outage GTA Online Call of Duty

With AWS, Cloudflare, and Akamai servers down, much of the internet has to fall back to local hosts. This means that users might find some sites are running slower than usual but still load. However, many games run their servers directly from CDNs, so when they’re down, the game is down.

We’ve got no word yet as to what the issue with these CDNs is. Usually, just one of them going down causes significant outages, but many major sites have been thrown into disarray with multiple services having issues.

Since there’s a lot of moving parts to Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA Online, Dead by Daylight, Warframe, Rainbow Six Siege, and other games being down, there’s no word on when they’ll be back up. Sometimes these CDN outages are fixed very quickly, while other times, it can take the better part of a day before they come back online. Until we know the cause of the issues, there’s no way to know for sure what the ETA to service restoration will be.

Additionally, these issues are not regional. Users are reporting that servers are down for these games worldwide. This points to this outage being a more severe issue than the usual ones that are localized to specific regions. Hopefully, we’ll see these servers come back online sooner rather than later, but it’s a good idea to make other plans for today.
