The Witcher 3 Complete Edition Free DLC

More The Witcher 3 DLC is coming, six years after the game’s launch

The Witcher 3 Complete Edition next-gen upgrade is coming at some point in 2021, and with it will be another batch of free DLC. That’s right, six years after its debut in 2015, The Witcher 3 is still getting new content.

What will the new The Witcher 3 DLC be?

Last year, it was announced that the Complete Edition will bring The Witcher 3 to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a host of new features like ray-tracing, quicker load times, and visual and technical improvements. However, the announcement at WitcherCon is the first time we’ve heard of any new content coming to the game. The last The Witcher 3 DLC to release was the critically acclaimed Blood and Wire expansion in 2016. Since then, the game has received patches, but it was thought that CD Projekt Red had moved on.

We didn’t get any solid details about the new free DLC. Still, CD Projekt Red lead quest designer Philipp Weber teased, “So as an example, you might be able to wear Geralt’s armor inspired by the Netflix series.” From this hint, it seems like the new content will be similar to the 16 pieces of free DLC released shortly after the game launched. If so, we can take a look at those to get a clue at what might be coming:

  • Alternative Look for Ciri
  • Alternative Look for Triss
  • Alternative Look for Yennefer
  • Ballad Heroes’ Neutral Gwent Card Set
  • Beard and Hairstyle Set for Geralt
  • Crossbow set
  • New Finisher Animations
  • New Game +
  • New Quest – “Contract: Missing Miners”
  • New Quest – “Contract: Skellige’s Most Wanted”
  • New Quest – “Fool’s Gold”
  • New Quest – “Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear”
  • New Quest – “Where the Cat and Wolf Play…”
  • Nilfgaardian Armor set
  • Skellige Armor Set
  • Temerian Armor Set

If the upcoming content is similar, we’ll likely see some cosmetics and a few new quests. Given Henry Cavill’s enthusiasm about his role and the game itself, perhaps we’ll get an alternate look for Geralt.
