Nintendo Switch OLED battery life

Nintendo Switch OLED model doesn’t improve battery life

The new Nintendo Switch OLED model doesn’t do anything to improve battery life. Although the Switch Pro features a larger screen with better image quality, Nintendo has elected not to make any changes where the internal battery is concerned. Many existing Switch owners believe that the battery life is too short, though the problem won’t get a solution with the launch of the Nintendo Switch OLED.

Does the Nintendo Switch OLED have a longer battery life?

The Nintendo Switch OLED battery life is approximately 4.5 to 9 hours, which is the same as the standard model.

Nintendo’s OLED Switch features a 4310mAh lithium-ion battery, just like its predecessor. The fact that its battery life isn’t shorter than the original model is somewhat impressive; in theory, the larger and brighter OLED screen should consume more power. Sharing the same battery spec between versions is no small achievement, considering the Nintendo Switch Pro hardware upgrades.

How long does Nintendo Switch OLED take to charge?

The Nintendo Switch Pro OLED model charge time is approximately three hours when charging in sleep mode. This length of time will differ if the Nintendo Switch OLED console is in active use when charging.

Nintendo’s estimated Switch OLED charging time is the same as its standard Switch hardware. This is due to the shared 4310mAh lithium-ion battery, which has the same maximum power capacity. As with the original model, players can use the Switch to play games in handheld and/or docked mode while charging. This can significantly extend the charging time, however, especially when playing more graphically intensive games.
