Gamers have been anticipating a sequel to Bully (Canis Canem Edit) for well over a decade now, and today, that’s clearer than ever. Bully 2 is trending on Twitter, with WWE Superstar Mia Yim contributing to the social media campaign. The “HBIC” is pleading with developer Rockstar Games in the hopes of making this long-rumored sequel a reality.

Why is Bully 2 trending?

Why is Bully 2 trending?

Bully 2 is trending on Twitter as fans are campaigning for developer Rockstar Games to produce a new installment.

Following a report that GTA 6 isn’t coming soon, players believe that Rockstar should launch a Bully sequel to plug the massive gap in its release schedule.

At least one person of note is all-in on the campaign. WWE’s Mia Yim posted a photo online earlier this month, accompanied by the caption: “Hey @RockstarGames, need a Bully for Bully 2?” Just days later, Bully 2 is now trending and Yim is back with a desperate plea for the developers. Echoing the sentiment of neglected Bully fans everywhere, in reference to the sequel, Yim begs “we need it” accompanied by a crying face emoji.

This isn’t the first time that players have demanded a sequel to Bully, which is a bonafide cult classic. Despite having a passionate fanbase, outside of two re-releases, fans have remained largely unserved.

The original was a target of misguided media uproar at launch, though Rockstar isn’t afraid to court controversy. With that in mind, there isn’t any obvious reason as to why a sequel isn’t happening. Many speculate, however, that it’s a simple case of economics. If there’s a large assured profit in continuing to support GTA Online, Rockstar Games could see developing Bully 2 as an unnecessary risk.
