Starfield leak confirms it’s an Xbox and PC exclusive and won’t be coming to PS5

Starfield leak ahead of the E3 2021 Xbox and Bethesda Showcase has confirmed that the game will be a Xbox and PC exclusive, with it not coming to Sony’s PS5 or PS4. The highly anticipated sci-fi game’s release date was also revealed in the leaked trailer.

Starfield Xbox and PC exclusivity and release date confirmed

The Starfield trailer was pushed online by Washington Post ahead of Xbox and Bethesda’s E3 2021 presentation, seemingly by accident given its close proximity to the show. The trailer showcased a cinematic, concluding with its release date and the confirmation that it will exclusively launch on Xbox Series X, S, and PC.

This means that the game won’t be launching on PS5 or PS4, following Xbox’s acquisition of Bethesda as a first-party studio. This makes the game the most high-profile Xbox exclusive to date, outside of Microsoft’s own franchises such as Halo Infinite.

When is the Starfield release date?

Starfield will release exclusively on Xbox Series X, S, and PC on November 11, 2022. This was confirmed at the end of the trailer, revealing that the game is still a year away from launch.

Presumably, Xbox and Bethesda will elaborate more on the game in the upcoming presentation. However, this is still a big leak ahead of the show, given that it was likely set to be one of the companies’ biggest announcements.
