The Last Guardian Is “Moving Along In The Right Direction” Despite “Concern And Consternation” Says Japan Studio Head

Despite being revealed in 2009 and under development for the past five years, The Last Guardian still illudes/eludes PlayStation gamers, shrouded in an air of mystery at Japan Studio where Fumito Ueda, who recently left Sony to continue work on the title as a contractor, continues development.

The latest update to the title's progress comes from Japan Studio head Allan Becker who says that changes at the studio should help the game get finished. "I think it's moving along in the right direction," Becker said.

"We don't necessarily agree with each other—Fumito Ueda and I—about process," Becker explained. "In some sense, I sort of… implemented change, which, I think, is causing some concern and consternation. But, once again, I think the benefit will come through. We're still going through that phase of adjustment and finding the right balance and groove."

Japan Studio has released the fantastic Gravity Rush on PlayStation Vita, the whimsical Puppeteer on PlayStation 3, and will release Knack, launch game for PlayStation 4, but The Last Guardian still sees regular spikes in demand and interest from the gaming public.

When will Team Ico's gorgeous looking new adventure be playable? Will it debut on PlayStation 4 now that Sony is spotlighting their next-generation hardware?
