Is Call of Duty: Warzone pay-to-win

Blueprint bug makes Call of Duty: Warzone pay-to-win

Having finally gotten around to nerfing problematic Call of Duty: Warzone weapons like the DMR, Diamatti pistols, and MAC-10, it seemed like developer Raven Software had fixed the game’s overpowered weapon problem. However, that is not the case, as it appears that only base versions of the weapons have been tweaked. Nerfs to the MAC-10’s headshot multiplier, for example, don’t apply to the paid-for Gallantry Weapon Blueprint version. This has led to Warzone now leaning more on the side of being pay-to-win.

Is Call of Duty: Warzone pay-to-win in 2021?

Is Call of Duty: Warzone pay-to-win

Call of Duty: Warzone has become pay-to-win in 2021.

As identified by YouTube creator JGOD, the paid-for MAC-10 Gallatry Blueprint has better base damage than the normal (free) version of the weapon, as well as better hip-fire and recoil control.

To unlock the Gallantry Weapon Blueprint, players have to reach Tier 95 of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Not only is the MAC-10 Gallantry variant limited to paid-for Battle Pass owners, but it’s also at a tier that most players won’t have reached yet through normal progression. Those who have paid for tiers, however, may well have unlocked the now OP weapon.

In its rolling out nerfs, it appears that Raven Software accidentally ignored the Weapon Blueprint variants of the guns. Here’s hoping a fix is rolled out sooner rather than later.

The Weapon Blueprint bug isn’t the only thing frustrating Warzone players. Both the DMR and Diamatti weapons are continuing to wreak havoc, despite the developer nerfing the guns.

A third-party website lets players track skill-based matchmaking to assess the skill level of their opponents. It also allows players to view the lobbies of world record matches.

Call of Duty‘s rough start to the year began on New Year’s Day itself, with servers going down for players. With January 1 being a holiday for many CoD fans, there was surely a lot of disappointment.
