Destiny 2 patch notes 3.0.1 update

The Prophecy dungeon returns to Destiny 2 alongside next-gen updates on December 8

The patch notes for Destiny 2 update 3.0.1 have dropped, and there are some neat things on the way for the game. These additions aren’t so much focused on new content, but they’re important all the same.

After the Tuesday weekly reset, the next-gen versions of Destiny 2 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which will mean better graphics and faster loading times on those consoles. The Prophecy Dungeon is also making its return after being removed for fixes. The final big update is a huge quality of life change. Players will finally be able to accept bounties without having to travel to the vendors scattered throughout the game.

Destiny 2 Patch Notes 3.0.1 Update | Destiny Companion App Bounty Board

Every Destiny 2 player knows how much of a pain it is to get a session started. Before anything, players must rotate through the various vendors that offer bounties. Given Destiny’s load times, this can be a 15-20 minute routine each day. Fortunately, that’s coming to an end.

On December 8, The Destiny Companion App will get an update that allows players to acquire bounties when offline, in orbit, on in The Tower. This will streamline the process considerably and allow players to get straight into the game.

Destiny 2 Patch Notes 3.0.1 Update | Prophecy Dungeon Returns

Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon

The Prophecy Dungeon will return on December 8 and will be free for all players. The dungeon will allow players to obtain Pinnacle Gear once per week, and each checkpoint will drop Powerful Gear once a week.

Given how many locations and activities were vaulted with the release of Beyond Light, getting Prophecy back is a big deal. Hopefully, it’ll bring a bit of new gear with it as well.

Players can read the rest of the Destiny 2 3.0.1 update patch notes, as well as other news about Destiny 2 this week, on the Bungie blog.
