PS5 game boot time Kena Bridge of Spirits

PS5 game boot time reportedly takes ‘about two seconds’

The PS5 game boot time for Kena: Bridge of Spirits is looking pretty darn fast. How fast, do you ask? Well, this upcoming next-gen game reportedly boots from the start screen in “about two seconds.”

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an upcoming action-adventure game that thrusts players into a world with adorable little spirits called Rots. While this game is coming to both the PS4 and PS5, players who pick it up on the newer console won’t be spending too much time waiting around for it to load.

“Sony has touted the speed of the PS5’s solid-state drive, and how it virtually eliminates long loads,” said Game Informer’s Jeff Cork in a feature on the game. “In practice, we watched as Kena was launched from the PlayStation 5 system menu. It took about two seconds. That’s not resuming a suspended game, but launching the game fresh.”

If this experience holds true for the release, the two-second PS5 game boot time is certainly impressive. The days of long loading screens may truly come to an end with the next generation of consoles.
