Dualsense Battery DualShock 4 rumor

Rumor: DualSense battery is 50% bigger than DualShock 4

The DualSense battery is rumored to be more than 50% bigger than the DualShock 4 controller, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that your PS5 gaming sessions are going to last longer.

An apparently dead Twitter account recently sprung back to life with something very interesting: an internal breakdown of the DualSense controller. A tweet was released including pictures of what appears to be several pictures of a DualSense 5; that same tweet makes the claim that the new PS5 controller will have a bigger battery.

Specifically, the tweet claims that the DualSense battery is 1,560 mA. As a point of comparison, an old press release from Sony notes that the DualShock 4 has a 1,000 mA battery.

A larger capacity battery isn’t the entire picture, though. As any high-schooler going through his first physics class can tell you, electricity is a wee bit more complex than that. How long the battery lasts depends on how much power the controller requires, and all of those new gadgets (like the Adaptive Triggers) might mean that we get the same amount of playtime or even less than that.
