Pikmin 3 Deluxe Nintendo Switch running

Pikmin 3 Deluxe Nintendo Switch release surprisingly announced

Surprise! A Pikmin 3 Deluxe Nintendo Switch release date has been announced by Nintendo seemingly out of nowhere as one of the best new surprises of the summer. If you’ve never had the chance to play this franchise, you’ll soon be able to play this Pikmin Nintendo Switch remaster in just a few months.

The reveal of this remaster was surprisingly announced by Nintendo today. This isn’t going to just be a pretty remaster, mind — some new features are being added to the game to make it a little more modern, although the classic challenging gameplay will be sticking around for veteran fans.

If you’ve never played Pikmin before, the premise is quite simple: you crash-land your spaceship on a planet. You can’t quite get everything fixed by yourself, so you’ll have to command armies of these little creatures called Pikmin to survive the hazards of the world and finally make your way back home.

It can be a challenging game, but some new additions for first-time players should make it an easy enough experience to enjoy. A bunch of difficulty settings, lock-on targeting, and optional hints have been added to allow for a more casual experience if that’s how you want to play.

You won’t have to go it alone, either — you’ll be able to play the Pikmin 3 Deluxe Nintendo Switch version in co-op right from the beginning! All of the original game’s Story Mode and DLC stages will be available in co-op play. Of course, there are also competitive modes like the head-to-head Bingo Battles. Particularly enthusiastic gamers can take a crack at the online leaderboards for Mission mode and try to be the best in the world!

Pikmin 3 Deluxe brings this classic franchise to life on Nintendo Switch, introducing a new audience to its beloved characters and gameplay, while also welcoming back returning players with new challenges,” said Nintendo of America’s Senior VP of Sales and Marketing Nick Chavez.

If this sounds like your kind of jam, you won’t have to wait too long to play it — the Pikmin 3 Deluxe Nintendo Switch eShop page says that it’s going to be launching on October 30, 2020, at a price of $59.99 or your regional equivalent. For now, you can check out the Pikmin 3 Deluxe Announcement Trailer below and get hyped for this fantastic remaster!
