Valve's Gabe Newell Xbox Series X PS5 better

Valve’s Gabe Newell says Xbox Series X is ‘better’ than PS5

Valve’s Gabe Newell has firmly signaled his preference for a next-gen console: he would “definitely” buy an Xbox Series X instead of a PS5.

Recently, Gabe Newell was interviewed on The Project NZ, a television show in New Zealand where the company’s co-founder has been residing for the last several months. One of the questions that came up in that interview was which of the two next-gen consoles that Newell prefers, and his answer shouldn’t be surprising to anyone who knows his history.

“I don’t have, you know, a stake in that race, so… obviously, we do most of our development on personal computers,” Valve’s Gabe Newell said. “But of the two, I would definitely go with an [Xbox Series X].”

If you weren’t aware, Gabe Newell was one of the people who worked on early versions of Microsoft Windows before moving on to co-founded Valve. His preference for a Microsoft console shouldn’t be surprising considering that. There may be other reasons why, but Newell declined to share them in the interview (which you can watch in full below).
