Fall Guys managed to overtake Fortnite as the most viewed game on Twitch, with Mediatonic’s “massively multiplayer party game” briefly taking the crown from Epic Games’ battle royale as the platform’s most popular game.
Fall Guys‘ closed beta went live yesterday, with Mediatonic also lifting the NDA that had been imposed on testers in the Devolver Digital beta program. This finally allowed streamers to stream the game, resulting in many taking to Twitch to show it off.
The end result was major streamers such as xQc and Lirik playing it, resulting in it achieving the unthinkable and usurping Fortnite on the platform. As a result, Fall Guys became the most-viewed game, ahead of the likes of League of Legends, GTA 5, and Modern Warfare.

This is a huge deal for a comparatively small game like Fall Guys, as Twitch’s most-viewed games are typically a selection of big-budget released produced by the gaming industry’s biggest publishers.
Though its time at the top of Twitch was short-lived, spectators were still impressed that it managed to overtake Fortnite and co. Epic Games’ CEO Tim Sweeney tweeted a message of congratulations to the Mediatonic team, adding that the game “looks great.”
Looks great, congrats Fall Guys team!

The Fall Guys beta went live yesterday and is set to roll on for an additional 48 hours. Those who are signed up to the Devolver Beta Squadron should have received access by now, with the Fall Guys Twitter account also distributing new codes throughout its beta period.
