If you’re looking to stream Xbox games to your Android phone, you’re going to need a controller. The 8bitdo Xbox Android controller might be just the thing you need and it’s coming soon, but you might not be able to use it just yet — it’s likely to arrive before the Project xCloud release date.

The 8bitdo Xbox Android controller is aiming to release on September 21, 2020, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll be able to use it for Project xCloud. As one gaming journalist notes, this reportedly will not be the Project xCloud release date.
“[That] date is not related to [Project] xCloud launch,” stated The Verge Senior Editor Tom Warren on Twitter.
Bear in mind, it’s possible that xCloud will launch before that date; all this tweet tells us is that the Project xCloud release date is not September 21, 2020. It’s entirely possible that Microsoft’s game streaming service could launch before the release of the 8bitdo Xbox Android controller, although we can’t say for certain either way.
Whether or not xCloud launches by then, this new wireless controller can nonetheless be used to play many of your other Android games.
