Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order update

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order update lets you make your own battles

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order update has arrived just in time for May the 4th, unlocking some fun new tools for players to enjoy on Star Wars Day. Not only are there new challenges in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order — now, you can make your own for the very first time.

The first major highlight of today’s new update is “Meditation Training,” a new game mode hub that you can enter from the various Meditation points placed throughout the game. This will let you take on enemies in two distinct modes: Combat Challenges and Battle Grid, the latter of which is very interesting.

Combat Challenges is essentially a horde mode that’s been designed for veteran players; as such, it may not be a good idea to attempt these if you’re just starting out. You’ll have 12 challenges in total to complete, each of which gives you a rank from 1–3 stars. Collecting 12 stars in total will unlock some pretty cool cosmetics like these new BD-1 skins!

Battle Grid, however, is even cooler than that. It doesn’t have any rewards of its own, but it’s certainly a vehicle for a lot of fun. In short: this is a sandbox that will let you make your own battles. You can select the enemies, the location, and the difficulty level, and you can save your creations to play later. Battle Grid will also feature some enemies you can’t fight in the base game like Jaro Tapal and the Cal Kestis, the dark side version of our protagonist.

The last major highlight of this update is New Journey+, and here’s where the rub is: this is the only way to play Meditation Training in this new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order update. You’ll get to keep the collectibles you’ve unlocked, but you’ll have to regain all of your powers. The game makes up for that, though, by giving you the Inquisitor uniform cosmetic for Cal.

There are other changes as well, of course. Check out the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order news post on this update to see all of the fine details. You can also see what’s new in his update by checking out the trailer below.
