The Last of Us 2 release date has been moved to June 19, 2020, after Sony and Naughty Dog delayed the upcoming PS4 exclusive. Previously, Sony made the announcement that TLoU2 would be delayed indefinitely. However, following a barrage of spoilers for the game emerging online, the company has now provided a firm release date for the title.
Sony commented that a less harsh distribution environment has contributed to it being able to offer a The Last of Us 2 release date for eager fans.

“As we begin to see an ease in the global distribution environment, I am pleased to confirm that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on June 19,” said Sony’s Head of Worldwide Studios Hermen Hulst.
As of now, Sony and Naughty Dog haven’t commented on the deluge of The Last of Us 2 spoilers that started circulating over the weekend. Whether this new release date has anything to do with the leaks or not is purely speculation, but the timing seems to indicate a connection.
