Elijah Wood politely drops onto fan’s Animal Crossing island to trade in his turnips

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been quite a hit during this pandemic. The series has always been popular, but it feels more right now because of its upbeat nature and the schedule it provides its players. That includes celebrities, too, as Elijah Wood, best known as Frodo in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, recently popped onto a fan’s island for one thing: to trade in his turnips.

Twitter user directedbyrian tweeted the exchange earlier today along with their excitement. Wood messaged them for their Dodo code after they tweeted their abnormally high price for turnips — 599 Bells — in addition to their fluffy, white cat who didn’t seem as impressed as directedbyrian.

Wood was quite polite as well. He commented that they had a beautiful island, asked if he could pick some fruit, and also stated “long live rian johnson.” Rian Johnson directed films such as Knives Out, Brick, Looper, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and is presumably the “rian” in directedbyrian’s Twitter handle. Their avatar is even a picture of Kylo Ren from the sequel trilogy.

ALSO: Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ interest rate change only hurts honest players

Even though he plays the game, Wood has not tweeted about Animal Crossing: New Horizons and is just quietly enjoying it like a normal person. He’s just like all of us: stuck inside and wishing for good turnip prices.
