Super Mario 3D World Switch version shows up online

It looks like the Super Mario 3D World Switch version is more than just a well-reported rumor. The alleged redux of the 3D Wii U Mario title showed up on Best Buy’s website for $60, but with no release date. Nintendo has not commented further on the subject.

Noted deals spotter Wario64 pointed this out on Twitter, stating that there is a listing for the game, but it has not been activated yet. He even listed its SKU number: 6352130. As he states, this isn’t a confirmation, but probably a sign showing that the game is coming, given the corroborated reports and Nintendo’s insistence on porting Wii U games to the Switch.

The reports have pointed to the Super Mario 3D World Switch version being sort of a deluxe edition of the 2013 Wii U game. It’ll allegedly have new stages and content, making this more than just a port, but still hopefully worth the $60 price Nintendo is probably going to ask for it. The other games in this rumored batch of Mario remasters coming in 2020 — Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy — likely won’t be given the same treatment. However, according to VGC, they will be more than just “standard digital ports.”
