A fan has transformed Animal Crossing: New Horizons character Isabelle into a Bernie Sanders supporter, showing the anthropomorphic Shih Tzu giving her “endorsement” to the presidential hopeful because “healthcare is a human right.”
The primary elections have seen a number of US states cast their votes on which candidate they feel should represent their party in November’s general election. For the Democrats, Bernie Sanders is competing against the likes of Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden, with many strongly supporting Sanders as a result of his more hard-left policies compared to his opposition.

Many celebrities and other popular figures have offered their endorsement to Sanders, including the likes of Ariana Grande, Michael Moore, Joe Rogan, and Danny DeVito, but an Animal Crossing fan has created an endorsement from Isabelle, too.
Twitter user @kyttenjanae posted the video on Twitter, calling it “the only endorsement that truly matters.” It features Isabelle standing in front of Bernie against a rainbow backdrop, concluding with a ‘Bernie Sanders 2020’ logo in the style of the Animal Crossing logo.

Nintendo obviously has nothing to do with the video, and as far as we’re aware Isabelle is canonically apolitical. It’s unlikely that the general election would affect the villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons anyway, given that they live in a completely different world where animals can talk and wear blouses. Still, we imagine that Bernie’s anti-capitalist slant would please some villagers who aren’t impressed with Tom Nook’s monopoly.
