Plague Inc. Chinese App Store removal

Plague Inc. taken down from Chinese App Store amid coronavirus crisis

Plague Inc. has been taken down from the Chinese App Store in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.

A statement has been released from developer Ndemic Creations which talks about the removal of the game from the Chinese App Store.

“We have some very sad news to share with our [China-based] players,” the statement begins. “We’ve just been informed that Plague Inc. “includes content that is illegal in China as determined by the Cyberspace Administration of China” and has been removed from the China App Store. This situation is completely out of our control.”

One might think that this removal was due to the coronavirus that is currently being battled in China and elsewhere in the world. Unfortunately, Ndemic Creations says that this hasn’t been specified as the reason for the removal.

For the moment, Ndemic Creations is trying to get in touch with the Cyberspace Administration of China in order to get the game back onto the Chinese App Store. For now, those of you in the West can play the game on Android, iOS, and Steam.
