State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition reportedly leaked

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition has reportedly been announced a little earlier than intended, revealing a fat chunk of upcoming content for this exciting survival game. If you’ve been looking for some fresh new State of Decay 2 content, it looks like a lot is on the way.

The announcement briefly appeared on the game’s official website, but it’s since been taken down. It doesn’t seem like anyone managed to archive the page or grab a screenshot, but Reddit submissions on /r/Games and /r/xboxone discuss the announcement, and one of the Redditors managed to copy the text of the whole thing.

What is State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition? To start, this is a free upgrade that improves the game overall for all existing users of the game, including people who received the game through Xbox Game Pass. That’s not the only digital storefront that matters, either — the game’s Steam release date has been announced as well. In either case, current owners who happen to have the base game and/or its DLC will also score some free in-game gifts, too.

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition overview

A brand-new open-world map set in the logging town of Providence Ridge has been created for players to explore. New players will he helped along with a completely rebuilt post-tutorial experience, making it easier than ever to get into the game.

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition also adds a new class of weapons called Heavy Melee Weapons. It seems that these new weapons don’t swing quite as fast as other melee equipment, but the text notes that they will “reward player skill and timing”, insinuating that these will hit for much more damage.

Of course, the Juggernaut Edition has also fixed several bugs in both gameplay and mission, improved the audio experience, and added “a wide range of graphical improvements” like optimized foliage to improve performance and better lighting.

If the leaked text is accurate, you’ll be able to play State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition on Xbox Game Pass or Steam on March 13, 2020. In the meantime, you can add the game to your wishlist on Steam.
