There are less than four days left for Tommy Tallarico, CEO/Creator of the fan-favorite orchestra Video Games Live, to fully Kickstart the creation of the Video Games Live: Level 3 album. At the time of this writing, little more than $205,000 of the $250,000 goal has been pledged, so it's about 82% there. It just needs a slight push within the next three days.
So as a tease, he has uploaded a computerized mock-up of the Super Mario World theme song, which by the way has never been heard by anyone yet, including Nintendo, until today. You can listen to it in the embedded player in this updated post on the Kickstarter.
Now, mind you, the version of this theme will be different for Video Games Live: Level 3 album since it, if it's fully funded, will have a real orchestra and rock band backing the melodies. This album is centered around soundtracks from games that aren't necessarily the most "popular" by record companies like Journey, Assassin's Creed, and Shadow of the Colossus. Most, if not all, of the arrangements on the album will be co-composed with their original composers.
Tommy Tallarico has also started a Reddit AMA answering any questions fans have on the album and his work.
