Resident Evil 8 enemies include werewolves and invincible ghosts, rumor suggests

Rumors about upcoming Resident Evil 8 enemies and other features of this as-yet-unannounced game have popped up on a fan channel dedicated to the franchise. If these rumors hold true, then Resident Evil 8 may be having some interesting changes to the overall formula, and that might not even be the game’s name.

Twitter personality Nibel highlighted a video from the franchise fan channel Residence of Evil which discusses these rumored Resident Evil 8 enemies and other features. According to Residence of Evil, the information was sent to the tipline for the Biohazard Declassified fansite.

Two things should be noted before we move on. Firstly, this information was corroborated to a degree by Nibel himself, lending it just a little more credibility. Secondly, these rumors may well have spoilers for Resident Evil 8, so please bear that in mind going forward. That said, let’s get into it!

Apparently, last year’s unannounced Resident Evil game playtest was for Resident Evil 8 — and that will reportedly not be its name, either. Rather, it will have some sort of “clever title” that will break the series’ tradition of using numbers for sequels.

The main character is said to be Ethan Winters, a character who appeared in Resident Evil 7. Though he faced several close calls throughout the game, he did ultimately survive the ordeal, leaving the door open for him to make a return in the next game. The game will also share the first-person perspective of Resident Evil 7.

The strangest addition of all, however, maybe the rumored Resident Evil 8 enemies. These are said to include werewolves and some kind of ghost-like creature that will disappear when shot. Beast-like creatures aren’t entirely out of the franchise’s wheelhouse, and while the ghosts might seem out of character, the video from Residence of Evil notes that there were hallucinations experienced by players in an earlier game.

Finally, much like Resident Evil 4, the rumored eighth game will be set in a colder European area and feature a village and a castle, much like Resident Evil 4. It is also rumored to return to the more traditional style of zombies rather than the drastically different versions from Resident Evil 7.

So, will we be getting Resident Evil 8? I think the odds are good that we’re going to be getting some new kind of game in the franchise, although when it will be announced and what it will look like is still up in the air. Do bear in mind that these rumors are only hearsay with no evidence provided. As always, take them with a grain of salt. You can hear about these rumors in all of their glorious detail in the video from Residence of Evil below.
