SEGA Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Knuckles

Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will include Knuckles

The upcoming Nintendo Switch game Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is going to be featuring a bunch of improvements to the original’s gameplay. This special new version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will also feature another nice surprise: Knuckles will be available as a playable character.

Gematsu reports that the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has the skinny on the next Sega Ages game. A new mode called “Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will be playable along with the original version of the game. There will, of course, also be a bunch of other extra goodies like:

  • additional actions
  • Super Sonic Mode
  • online rankings
  • and more

While modern gamers might have many complaints about DLC and the like, playing Knuckles in the original version of the game was a bit of a chore. Players had to insert the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 cart on top of the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge and hope that there wasn’t any problems with the connectors. Now, you’ll be able to play as Knuckles without having to build a Jenga tower of game cartridges.

Unfortunately, a release date has still not been announced for Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Let’s hope that we don’t have to wait too long.
