Pokemon fans are angry at Game Freak over a mouse cursor that accidentally appeared in the latest Pokemon Direct. The cursor appears in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment during last week’s Direct presentation, but that hasn’t prevented some viewers from accusing the developer of sloppiness.
The Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass was announced during last week’s Pokemon Direct, with Game Freak debuting its upcoming DLC The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. The response to the expansions has been divided, with some pleased that more content is to be added to the games, while others believe the content should have already been included in Sword and Shield.

This growing hostility towards Game Freak has caused some Pokemon fans to monitor every perceived indiscretion made by the studio. The latest example is a mouse cursor accidentally appearing in the recent Pokemon Direct. The moment can be viewed at the 15:23 mark in the video below:
This isn’t the first time that a cursor-related incident has riled up the Pokemon fanbase. Last year, Pokemon Sword and Shield players spotted a mouse cursor appearing in the games’ final cutscene. While this latest error is a small mistake that is hardly indicative of Game Freak’s work ethic, some have strongly criticized the developer on social media after Nintendo Soup posted the story on Twitter.
“I can’t be bothered to support game freak anymore,” one user wrote. “They are worse than EA at this point.”
“is there even quality control?” another added. “i’m starting to legitimately doubt it at this point.”
“It’s little things like this make me wonder if Gamefreak is actually rushing the games,” another user chimed in.
The Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass can be purchased for $29.99, with it including access to both upcoming expansion packs. The Isle of Armor is set for release before the end of June 2020, while The Crown Tundra will release in fall 2020.
