There's a good chance we'll be seeing more Wii U games from the team behind The Wonderful 101, as Platinum Games designer Hideki Kamiya has expressed interest in not only creating more titles for Nintendo, but also becoming a second-party developer.

Speaking to IGN Benelux, Kamiya said that he'd very much like to create a sequel to The Wonderful 101, should the opportunity arise.

If I get the chance, I would certainly like to make that game.

I really have no idea at this point, but I would love to make a sequel to one of my own games. We put a tremendous amount of work into this game and it would be unfortunate if I would not get the chance to tell a new story with these characters. However, some of the bad guys you beat in this game won’t appear in a sequel. That’s kind of a depressing thought.

When asked about bringing the original Bayonetta to Nintendo gamers, he went on to say he'd love to see that happen as well, despite having little say on the matter.

I would love to make that happen, so that gamers unfamiliar with the first game get to play it. This is just my personal opinion, however. I have not much say over the matter.

However, I think designers should always keep in mind that not everyone has played the previous title, even if this was released on the same platform. You have to make sure that even players who are unfamiliar with the franchise are able to keep up.

And finally, Kamiya dropped the most exciting bit of news when he confessed he'd most definitely be interested in developing games exclusively for Nintendo as a second-party studio. "I would love that. It would be great to work more closely with Nintendo," he said.

Despite the fact that Platinum Games' titles have proven to cater to a very niche audience, getting this talented team of developers to work exclusively for Nintendo from here on out could be a huge deal for the Big N, especially when considering how dire the situation currently is for the Wii U on the third-party front.
